Refugee to Home: Photography by Kalene Nisly opens In-Person
Refugee stories hold loss, but also extraordinary perseverance. They show incredible courage and a will to shape a new future for their families in the plains of Kansas. Kalene Nisly's collection of photographs, From Refugee to Home, follows those who have been displaced and are making new lives in Wichita. Refugee families add a richness to the tapestry of our communities and this show hopes to tell that story.
When she’s not telling the stories of lives and love with her camera, Nisly is an editor for an art and poetry magazine, the marketing manager at Bluebird Books and Café in Hutchinson, KS and volunteers at the International Rescue Committee in Wichita.
